Circumstances of Disappearance

A builder from Reading, known to friends as Jemsy, was last seen at Paddy’s Anchor pub in the island's capital, Las Palmas, on August 18.

He disappeared after leaving for a late dinner at a shawarma shop, which was just six minutes away from the pub.

According to his stepsister Nikita Goddard, a coach from Lincoln, Jemsy had his backpack stolen on the night he went missing.

She also fears that his passport may have been stolen.

“Many of you have been asking, so we want to share this post from Jemsy's family. His sister is still searching for him after he was last seen here in Las Palmas. His boat was found off the coast of Gran Canaria, but there has been no contact with him since.”

Search Continues

At this time, nothing is known about James's whereabouts. A witness claims to have communicated with him when he was drunk but did not act unusually.

Police have tracked his bank records and confirmed that he last used his card to buy food at Rico Doner Kebab.

Pub staff have reported that they were instructed not to speak about his disappearance. One of them said:

“This is an open investigation, and we've been told not to speak to anyone, and I just have to come to terms with that, I'm sorry.”

No comments have yet been received from the National Police of Las Palmas or the judicial authorities.
