British intelligence revealed the reasons for the accelerated advance of Russian troops.
According to the UK Ministry of Defence, in the south of Donetsk region, Russian forces have advanced in several areas over a width of 20 km. During the week, the occupiers captured several cities and retreated 9 km in some areas. After gaining control of Vuhledar, Russia continued its advance southwards.
The British Ministry of Defence reports that Russian forces captured the city of Hirnyk and, according to them, also control Kurakhivka. They also captured Selydove, creating a threat to the logistics hub of Pokrovsk.
“Russia continues to prioritize the southern part of the Donetsk front, maintaining a favorable force ratio in this sector, which partially explains the acceleration of the Russian advance. Despite significant personnel losses, Russia continues to recruit a large number of new recruits to support its operations in southern Ukraine”, the statement says.
Ukrainian defense forces have succeeded in the Kharkiv region and near Toretsk. However, Russian occupiers continue to advance towards Kupiansk, Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, Vuhledar, and in the Kreminna area.
Three of the best American vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - a pair of M-2 Bradley fighting vehicles and an M-1 Abrams tank, have been spotted in battles in the Kursk region of Russia. They broke through the Russian defenses and continue to operate on Russian territory.
