Cancellations of flights due to strike in Belgium
Today in Belgium, even more flights have been canceled due to a nationwide strike. The protest arose in response to the Prime Minister's new plans to reduce the national debt. Brussels Airport confirmed that out of 203 scheduled incoming flights, 110 have been canceled. This follows previously canceled flights that were supposed to take off today.“These measures were necessary to improve the economic situation in the country”The strike has caused significant inconvenience for millions of passengers planning to travel. Many have been left with no alternatives, as most airlines could not provide other flights due to overwhelming demand. Such protests may signal further issues in the transport sector if the government does not find a compromise with the unions.
