Ski Season in Kyiv: How Much It Costs to Rest on the Protasiv Yar Slopes.
According to ТСН: Winter vacations are traditionally associated with active mountain activities, but for the residents of Kyiv, there is a wonderful alternative that does not require long planning and distant travel. In the capital, there are places where you can enjoy skiing right in the city.
Protasiv Yar Ski Complex
One of the most popular locations remains the Protasiv Yar ski complex, located not far from the center of Kyiv. The complex has been operating since 1998 and serves as a base for the training of Ukraine's Olympic teams.
There are slopes for professionals, as well as for those who are just beginning to ski or snowboard. Visitors are offered:
Four slopes of varying difficulty, the longest of which is 500 meters with a height difference of up to 80 meters.
Two lifts: a button lift for one and a tow lift for two, leading to the more difficult slope.
A ski school with qualified instructors.
Equipment rental points.
A restaurant where you can recharge after active skiing.
Pricing Policy for the Season
The cost of recreation depends on the day of the week and the selected services.
Ski Passes and Lifts:
Three hours of skiing: 450 UAH on weekdays, 550 UAH on weekends and holidays.
Single lift: 45 UAH on weekdays, 55 UAH on weekends.
Children under 6 years old can ski for free.
Instructor Services and Rental:
Individual lesson with an instructor - 1000 UAH per hour.
Equipment rental during the lesson: 400 UAH for adults, 300 UAH for children.
Daily equipment rental will cost 600 UAH.
Operating Hours and Logistics
The complex operates daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, except on Mondays, when it opens at 12:00 PM.
You can get to 'Protasiv Yar' by car or public transport. The location is not far from NSK 'Olympic'.
From 'Olympiyska' metro station: minibuses No. 495, No. 450, and trolleybus No. 40.
From 'Vokzalna' metro station: minibus No. 198.
Other Skiing Opportunities
In addition to 'Protasiv Yar', Kyiv residents can visit Goloseev Ski Park in Goloseievsky Park, which also has a ski school and rental. The cost of one lift here is 50 UAH on weekdays and 60 UAH on weekends.
For those looking for free skiing options, there are slopes at Lysyi Hill, in Hydropark, and near the Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II.
