The head of the parliamentary finance committee, Danilo Hetmanets, stated the necessity of eliminating special pensions and conducting comprehensive pension reform. He emphasized that the bill to cancel such pensions faces challenges in being adopted by the Verkhovna Rada. In his interview, Hetmanets noted that the main problem lies in the active lobbying of those who benefit from the existing system. He highlighted the injustice of the situation where the size of pensions depends on the position rather than contributions to society. Hetmanets called for support of the initiative to cancel special pensions, stressing the need to reduce internal inequality in citizens' incomes. The bill to eliminate special pensions encounters resistance due to clan interests and lobbyists. Hetmanets underscored the importance of making this decision to create a fairer pension system in Ukraine.
