Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember paratrooper Mykhailo Novyk.
On November 11, 2024, defending the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, warrior Mykhailo Novyk fell. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
Mykhailo Novyk was born on November 18, 1986, and lived in the village of Zavadiv, Lviv region.
He studied at Secondary School No. 27 in Lviv, named after the Heavenly Hundred hero Mykhailo Verbytskyi. At school, he practiced boxing and achieved victories in competitions. After that, he received education as a painter-plasterer at the State Vocational Educational Institution 'Lviv Higher Professional Polytechnic College.'
After finishing his studies, he worked in his specialty.
According to relatives, Mykhailo was a wonderful person and a devoted comrade, always ready to help others. He was extraordinarily kind and sincere.
With the onset of the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation, he took up the defense of his homeland from Russian occupiers. He defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine in the northeastern direction as part of the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade.
Mykhailo Novyk's heart stopped beating on November 11, 2024. The soldier's funeral took place on November 23 at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul, and he was buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.
Mykhailo Novyk was survived by his mother, two sons, a daughter, six sisters, and three brothers.
“Glaikom” joins the moment of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died fighting for their homeland. We remember those killed at the hands of Russian invaders, light memorial candles, and bow our heads in sorrow during the nationwide moment of silence, honoring the bright memory of Ukrainian citizens who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all who perished in the fight against Russian occupiers and as a result of the assault by enemy troops on Ukrainian cities and villages.
