Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we will recall the story of Maksym Babak. Obolon bid farewell to Senior Lieutenant of the Marine Corps Maksym Hennadiovych Babak, known as Mars, the deputy commander of the second company of the second battalion of the 35th separate marine brigade. He was born in Donetsk, served in the police, and later in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he rose to the rank of captain. He received serious injuries near Maryinka but did not give up and returned to the front. Tragically, he died in November 2024 while carrying out a difficult combat mission in Donetsk. Hundreds of people gathered at his farewell in Obolon to honor the hero, his supporters and comrades. The story of Maksym Babak, like many others, reminds us of the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. And every morning at 9 a.m., we remember their memory and honor their feat.
