Traffic at the border before Christmas: where the lowest traffic is in Lviv region

According to ТСН: In the Lviv region, there is an increase in passenger traffic at the border before Christmas, but the queues vary depending on the specific crossing point.

Situation at the crossing points

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on Telegram.

“The highest load is recorded in 'Shehyni' and 'Krakivets', while the smallest queues are in 'Smilnytsia' and 'Nyzhankovychi'. Moderate traffic is noted in 'Rava-Ruska', 'Uhryniv', and 'Hrushiv'”, - the message states.

Predictions and recommendations

According to border guards' forecasts, passenger traffic may increase by about a quarter. To ensure effective service for the growing traffic, staff is gradually being increased, new automated workplaces are being introduced, and close cooperation with Polish colleagues is being maintained. A temporary decrease in traffic intensity is expected on Christmas and New Year's days, while a gradual decline in passenger traffic is anticipated after the first week of January.

To reduce waiting time at the border, it is advisable to use less busy crossing points and plan crossings during nighttime or morning hours.

It was previously reported that at the 'Solotvyno – Sighetu Marmației' crossing point, the crossing for vehicles was temporarily restricted on weekdays starting from December 2, 2025.

Before Christmas, when many people seek to visit relatives abroad, the situation at the borders becomes especially important. With the increase in passenger traffic typical for the holiday season, it is essential to follow the recommendations of border guards. When planning a trip, it is worth paying attention to less busy crossing points and avoiding peak hours to shorten waiting time.
