Stable Fuel Prices in Ukraine

According to TSN.ua: Experts see no immediate cause for a spike in gasoline and diesel prices in Ukraine. According to Serhiy Kuyun, director of the 'A-95 Consulting Company', the current state of the petroleum products market indicates price stability. He noted that while the wholesale price for diesel was 80 UAH/l and retail was 76 UAH/l, it has recently dropped to 70-73 UAH/l. This demonstrates a positive trend toward lower prices in Ukraine's fuel market, which is notable given global energy price pressures.

This stability stands in contrast to trends in other European nations. Over the last 10 days, diesel prices have risen by 21 UAH/l in Poland and 23 UAH/l in Germany. In Ukraine, however, diesel prices increased by only 10 UAH/l over the same period, with gasoline rising by just 6 UAH/l. This highlights the relative price steadiness in Ukraine compared to its neighbors.

Current Average Fuel Prices

As of the morning of March 11, average fuel prices in Ukraine were:

  • Gasoline A-95 - 69.76 UAH/l
  • Gasoline A-95+ - 73.62 UAH/l
  • Gasoline A-100 - 80.46 UAH/l
  • Diesel fuel - 74.49 UAH/l

This data confirms that fuel prices are holding at a consistent level.

Andriy Gerus has assured the public that there is no basis for a sharp increase in fuel prices.

He also dismissed rumors of potential gasoline price hikes to 100-150 UAH per liter, stating such speculation is unfounded. Considering these factors, the petroleum market in Ukraine is currently stable and is not expected to see significant price fluctuations in the near future.

Ukraine's ability to maintain stable fuel prices amidst increases in neighboring countries may point to effective market regulation. This stability is crucial for both consumers and the broader economy, as it helps contain inflationary pressure in other sectors. In the face of global economic challenges, including rising energy costs, maintaining this internal market balance is key to avoiding adverse socio-economic impacts.
