In Transcarpathia, organizers of illegal transportation of conscripts were detained: details of the case.

In the Transcarpathian region, two men attempted to smuggle four conscripted individuals across the border. While trying to escape, they were detained. Preventive measures have already been chosen for the organizers of this 'journey.'

This was reported by the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Details of the case

Border guards from the 'Dyakove' operational and investigative department of the Mukachevo detachment detained four men of draft age, who were detected with the help of remote monitoring equipment. The border guards thwarted their escape with a warning shot upwards.

The traffickers were two local men who suggested a route for crossing the border by river. They also provided the 'clients' with camouflage vests and a guide was supposed to lead them to the river. Each participant in the incident was willing to pay the organizers from 10 to 12 thousand dollars for this 'journey.'

All the escapees were issued a protocol for attempting illegal border crossing, for which they may face fines or administrative detention.

The organizers of the 'journey' have been informed of their suspicion in the illegal transportation of individuals across the border. For this crime, they may be held accountable under the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Information about the violations has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations.

Court decision

No court decision has been made regarding the figures in the case yet, but preventive measures have already been chosen for both men. One of them will be held in custody for 60 days, but may be released on bail. The other will spend 60 days under house arrest.
