Olena joined the National Guard nearly two years ago, starting her service on February 23, 2022, after finishing her shift at the Hoptivka border checkpoint. Since then, she has advanced to become an operator of attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). By late 2025, she will continue her duties in a new capacity, as the National Guard of Ukraine plans to establish five new drone system regiments.
