Russian air traffic controllers offered the airplane other airports for landing, but the pilot decided to head to Aktau airport.
Yadrov emphasized that the situation in the area of Grozny airport was very difficult, and at that time the 'Carpet' plan was being implemented.
The 'Carpet' mode was introduced in the area of Grozny airport due to terrorist attacks on civilian infrastructure. This plan involves the removal of all aircraft from that zone.
Rosaviatsiya named the preliminary cause of the plane crash - the collision of the airplane with birds. In addition, an oxygen cylinder exploded on board the aircraft.
The Center for Countering Disinformation stated that the plane crash was caused by a Russian missile system. The aircraft was damaged by the actions of Russian military forces.
