Zelensky Warns of Drone Production Cuts Due to Funding Shortage.
According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky warned of a possible reduction in the production of combat drones if funding, including reparations loans, does not arrive in the spring. He also noted that the range of Ukrainian military capabilities may decrease.
Forecasts and Challenges
“If we are currently utilizing our long-range capabilities, and they are working, but from our side, as sanctions packages against the energy sector from our European and American partners, we are doing everything to reduce Russia's energy resources. All of this just won't exist,” he warned.
The President also drew attention to the issues with access to missiles for some air defense systems that have already started to arise.
Support for Ukraine
While in Brussels, Zelensky made several important statements regarding international support for Ukraine. “Without support, it will be difficult for Ukraine... The EU will pay with blood, not money due to Russia's aggression,” he said.
It is known that around 300 billion euros of Russian assets are blocked in the EU, more than 140 billion of which generate profit. These funds are proposed to be used to support Ukraine, in accordance with international law.
Future Funding
On December 18-19, a summit of EU leaders is scheduled in Brussels, where they will discuss financial support for Ukraine for 2026-2027. If no agreement is reached, the EU may consider an alternative in the form of a temporary loan funded by the bloc's borrowings.
This situation highlights the importance of international support for Ukraine, especially in the face of military challenges. Much depends on the decisions of European partners and how quickly they can activate financial aid to ensure the country's defense capabilities.
