Ukrzaliznytsia changes the schedule from December: what awaits passengers

According to ТСН: In December 2025, Ukrzaliznytsia will launch a significant update to the travel schedule for 2025-2026, which will greatly facilitate international travel for Ukrainians.

Convenient international travel

From December 2025, Ukrzaliznytsia will synchronize Ukrainian flights with trains to Germany.

The number of cross-border trains between Poland and Germany will increase by 54% — from 11 to 17 daily services.

The main transfers to German and Czech destinations:

Przemyśl:

  • Kyiv — Przemyśl (No. 51K): arrival at 05:00, successful transfer to train EC134 Via Regia to Leipzig (departure at 07:12).
  • Kharkiv — Przemyśl (No. 63/64): arrival at 16:59, transfer to night train EN417 Carpatia to Prague and Munich (departure at 17:51).
  • Zaporizhzhia — Przemyśl (No. 31/32): arrival at 08:18, transfer to train EC58 Galicja to Berlin (departure at 09:09).

Transfers in Chełm:

  • Dnipro — Chełm (No. 119/120): convenient transfers in Chełm and Warsaw Central to the train Warsaw — Berlin — Świnoujście, which arrives in Berlin at 06:00.
  • Also, you can reach Berlin by night trains EC430 and EC440, which depart respectively from Przemyśl and Chełm.

All transfers are convenient and in the return direction, ensuring comfortable return to Ukraine.

The Polish railway carrier PKP Intercity has announced the launch of a new international night train EN Carpatia, which from December 14 will connect Przemyśl with important European cities such as Munich, Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest. The night train EN Carpatia (departure from Przemyśl at 17:51) will be well synchronized with Ukrzaliznytsia's flights from Lviv and Kyiv, allowing Ukrainian passengers to avoid long waits and overnight stays in Poland.

Innovations in border control

For the convenience of international travel for Ukrainians, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to move border and customs control directly to the train cars. As Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko noted, this will help avoid long stops at the border.

“We are making international travel more convenient for Ukrainians. Today we adopted a decision that will allow border and customs control to be conducted directly in the train cars — without long stops at the border and without unnecessary stress for passengers,” she stressed.

This format is already in effect on some “Intercity+” routes to Poland and plans for gradual implementation on the sleeping cars of night international trains.

It is expected that simplified control during travel will start operating as early as January 2026.

Updated schedule and new routes

Ukrzaliznytsia has also announced an updated train schedule for 2025-2026, which will start on December 14. The company is expanding its network, adding 11 new routes (eight international and three domestic) and plans to increase passenger capacity by two million seats per year.

Key innovations in domestic connections:

  • new train Barvinkove — Chop (No. 47/48): connection for residents of Donetsk region with the Carpathians, Transcarpathia, and the international hub in Chop;
  • new train Kryvyi Rih — Ivano-Frankivsk (No. 33/34): direct connection of central regions with Prykarpattia;
  • updated flight Kharkiv — Uzhhorod (No. 113/114): an important train for Polissia and Volyn, extended to Transcarpathia.

Thus, over the next year, Ukrainians will have the opportunity to travel conveniently along new routes and take advantage of new possibilities in international transportation.

Please note that ticket sales under the new schedule for dates after December 14 are already open.

This announcement promises significant changes for Ukrainian passengers planning to travel abroad. Thanks to new routes and convenient transfers, trips will become easier and more pleasant. And simplified border control will further enhance the comfort of Ukrainian travelers.
