Ukrzaliznytsia launches additional trains in August: where and when to buy tickets.
Ukrzaliznytsia decided to cope with the high demand for tickets by launching additional routes. In August, several extra trains will be launched on one of the popular routes. This was announced by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.
For the second half of August, Ukrzaliznytsia has appointed additional trains. The highest demand is usually observed on the route between Kyiv and Lviv, so the company decided to add services on peak days. The additional trains will operate on the following schedule:
- №243/244 Kyiv — Lviv: August 16, 17, and 20;
- №249/250 Kyiv — Lviv: from Kyiv and Lviv on August 18 and 19;
- №775/776 Kyiv — Vinnytsia: from Kyiv and Vinnytsia on August 31.
How the resources for additional routes were found
This decision became possible due to more efficient use of carriages. After arriving from the main route, they do not go straight to the depot but continue their journey, managing to perform another route. These trains will be made up of regular sleeping cars with seating places. Tickets are already available for purchase in the Ukrzaliznytsia app and on their website, as well as at train station ticket offices.
Due to the high demand for tickets, Ukrzaliznytsia is working on improving passenger service. Additionally, Europe is preparing to launch a new strategy for high-speed rail transport development, aimed at convenient and accessible travel to compete with air travel.
