According to inkorr.com: This morning, an accident occurred on the road near Sukhy Liman, resulting in the deaths of two servicemen: one was 34 years old, and the other was 36. This information was provided by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast through Glavkom.
According to preliminary data, a 63-year-old truck driver ran over two servicemen who were near a checkpoint. The driver stated that he did not notice them.
One of the deceased died at the scene of the accident, while the other - in the ambulance during transportation to the hospital. It has been established that the driver was sober. The police are investigating the case and taking all necessary measures to clarify the circumstances of the event.
“Currently, traffic on this section of the road is complicated. We ask drivers to follow the rules, be attentive, and monitor the road situation,” the law enforcement officers emphasize.
This incident has already become the second case of a vehicle hitting military personnel. The police in Ternopil are also investigating a similar incident that occurred in September when a Daewoo Lanos vehicle hit two servicemen.
SUMMARY
Unfortunately, traffic accidents involving servicemen are not uncommon in Ukraine. It is important to follow traffic rules and be attentive on the road to avoid similar tragedies. Considering the increase in cases, law enforcement emphasizes the need to raise drivers' awareness of restrictions and dangers while driving near military facilities.
