Former Head of Ukrenergo Received a Million Bonus Upon Dismissal: What the Ex-Official Responded

According to ТСН: Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the former head of NEK 'Ukrenergo', received a significant bonus of 40 million hryvnias during his dismissal. This information was voiced by MP Oleksii Kucherenko during the program 'SVOI'.

Kucherenko noted:

‘Mr. Kudrytskyi, when leaving the company, awarded himself a bonus of 40 million hryvnias. Think about it. In August last year, a person who left the company voluntarily, who disrupted the shelter, led to technical default, all those scandals with Shurma’s solar stations, thefts, etc., awarded himself such a bonus’
.

Kudrytskyi's Response

Volodymyr Kudrytskyi called this information 'a lie.' In an interview with Suspilne, he noted:

‘This is a lie. The source of this story about 40 million is the Telegram channel “Trukha”. It also spread stories about my salary of 2 million hryvnias, which is also a fake because my salary was five times lower’
. He also explained that his contract provided for the possibility of deferring certain payments until the end of their term. Upon dismissal, he received accrued payments for previous years, but assured that this amount did not reach 40 million.

Investigations Situation

At the end of October, the State Bureau of Investigation conducted searches at Kudrytskyi’s place due to possible abuses during his leadership of 'Ukrenergo'. Law enforcement is investigating several criminal cases related to these abuses.

Kudrytskyi confirmed that a phone was seized during the searches. Later, on October 22, he appeared for questioning, informing journalists that he has the status of a witness.

On October 28, it became known that the SBI detained the former head of 'Ukrenergo' in the Lviv region. At the same time, suspicion was announced against Lviv businessman Ihor Hrynkevych.

According to the investigation's version, Hrynkevych and Kudrytskyi, who at that time was the deputy director, could be involved in a scheme for embezzling budget funds for the reconstruction of substations.

MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak stated that no damage was caused to the state, as the tender through which the proceedings were opened was conducted under a bank guarantee, and the bank returned the advance to 'Ukrenergo'.

On October 29, the court determined a preventive measure for Kudrytskyi in the form of arrest with the right to bail in the amount of 13.7 million hryvnias. However, on October 30, the bail was made, and Kudrytskyi was released from the pre-trial detention center.

This situation caused a wide resonance in Ukrainian society, as Kudrytskyi's detention and searches within the investigation are related to the activities of 'Ukrenergo', one of the key players in the energy market. The case is gaining momentum and will obviously remain under close attention from both the public and law enforcement agencies in the near future.
