Expert Popenko assessed the danger of Fico's threats to leave Ukraine without electricity.
Energy and public utilities expert analyzed Fico's threats regarding the cessation of electricity supplies to Ukraine
Energy and public utilities expert Oleg Popenko noted that the threats made by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to cease electricity supplies to Ukraine are dangerous. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel, as reported by 'Hvylya'.
According to the expert, during the first 11 months of 2024, Slovakia is the main supplier of electricity to Ukraine, providing 23% of the total import volume. It was also noted that this year, 52 Ukrainian companies imported electricity from Slovakia, with a total value of 135 million euros.
However, the cessation of electricity supplies could significantly impact Ukraine's energy sector. It is noted that the presence of a pipeline also poses a certain risk in the event of similar problems. Regardless of whose oil it is, there may be a leak leading to serious consequences.
We remind you that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, responded decisively to Robert Fico's blackmail.
