European Union Prepares Fresh Sanctions

According to UATV: The European Union is putting together its 21st round of sanctions targeting Russia, which analysts say must be tougher than previous measures. Oleksandr Levchenko, who served as Ukraine's ambassador to Croatia from 2010 to 2017, pointed out that Russia is receiving significant backing from North Korea and China. He emphasized that without support from these two nations, Russia would likely be facing severe operational failures.

Levchenko highlighted that North Korea has supplied Russia with 100 ballistic missiles, greatly strengthening its military capabilities. In contrast, he noted that while Europe and the United States have provided Ukraine with 5 million artillery shells, not a single ballistic missile has been delivered. This underscores that international aid for Ukraine remains substantial but comes with clear limitations.

Levchenko also stated that 'without China and North Korea, sanctions and international actions would have already broken Russia.' His remarks highlight how crucial global politics and foreign support are in the context of the Ukraine conflict and Russia's actions on the world stage.

The Critical Role of International Backing

As such, the EU's upcoming sanctions package represents another attempt to curb Russian aggression, but aid from countries like North Korea and China could undermine these efforts.

The introduction of the 21st sanctions package is part of broader international efforts to limit the Kremlin's military capacity. However, the support Russia receives from Pyongyang and Beijing may neutralize the impact of these measures, underscoring the need for a more comprehensive strategy in modern geopolitical challenges. While the European Union and the United States continue to supply Ukraine with military and humanitarian assistance, the situation on the battlefield remains difficult and demands ongoing attention from the global community.
