The EU and Ukraine are creating a drone wall: which countries are participating in the project.
According to inkorr.com: On Friday, there will be an online conference dedicated to discussing the future 'drone wall' initiated by European Commissioner for Defense and Space, Andrius Kubilius. Ukraine and seven countries of the European Union will participate.
European Commission spokesperson, Tom Reignier, shared this information during a briefing in Brussels.
Participants in the discussion
The countries that are at the forefront will join the discussion, namely: Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria, as well as representatives from Ukraine.
Reignier noted that the meeting was organized after the visit of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Commissioner Kubilius to the eastern EU countries.
The purpose of creating a 'drone wall'
As part of the initiative, von der Leyen emphasized the need to create such a 'wall' in response to the intrusion of Russian drones into the airspace of Romania and Poland.
The 'drone wall' project aims to protect EU states and Ukraine from Russian drones that violate their airspace.
During the online conference, participants will discuss the possibilities of implementing this initiative and measures to protect against threats from drones.
This initiative is an important step in strengthening the security of European states facing new challenges in the field of defense. Joint actions of EU countries in combating drones can significantly enhance their defense capabilities. The key goal of the consortium is not only to develop technological solutions but also to ensure stability in the region amidst constant threats from the aggressor.
