Kremlin calls EU leaders warmongers over 90 billion for Ukraine.
According to ТСН: Russia reacted to news about new aid to Ukraine from Europe.
Kirill Dmitriev, a representative of the Kremlin at recent negotiations with the American side, expressed the opinion that EU leaders act as "warmongers".
"Voices of reason" in the bloc — such as Hungary and Slovakia — were ignored.
Currently, the EU has decided on a joint borrowing of 90 billion euros for Ukraine. It is important to note that this does not involve frozen Russian assets, which remain blocked, as stated by European Council President Antonio Costa.
"The decision was made after the EU rejected the option of 'reparations loan', which had been discussed for a long time. We came to an agreement. The decision to provide Ukraine with support of 90 billion euros for 2026-2027 has been approved. We took on the obligation and fulfilled it."
This decision required unanimous approval. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz noted that part of the funds will also be directed towards military needs of Ukraine.
This loan is provided interest-free, and Ukraine will have to repay it only after Russia pays reparations.
Thus, the new financial support from the EU is an important step in ensuring the stability of Ukraine, as these funds will not only go towards restoring the economy but also strengthening military capability. This decision underscores the unity of the European Union in supporting Ukraine in the context of the ongoing war.
