According to UATV: During a meeting in Brussels on February 11, European Union defense ministers finalized plans for a substantial €90 billion aid package for Ukraine. The European Parliament has already approved the funding, and the final procedural details for its implementation are now being completed. This significant financial commitment underscores the EU's strategic support for Ukraine's defense against ongoing aggression.

A major portion of the funds, €60 billion, is designated for the procurement of military equipment, aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defensive capabilities. The €90 billion credit will be allocated for the 2026-2027 period, with 60% of the total earmarked for military aid and 30% allocated for social payments to support the Ukrainian population.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated: 'The European Parliament has approved a €90 billion loan for Ukraine for 2026-2027.'

The meeting also established two centers for training Ukrainian military personnel, highlighting a focus on enhancing operational readiness. This comprehensive support package reflects a long-term commitment to Ukraine's security.

Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur emphasized: 'We see that Ukraine is still capable of fighting.'

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, noted: 'Funding remains a challenge,' pointing to the ongoing need to secure financial resources for sustained support.

Ihor Popov, an expert from the 'United Ukraine' analytical center, stressed: 'This is not charity, but our common cause,' highlighting the shared responsibility of EU nations for regional security.

Overall, the gathering marked a crucial step in bolstering EU cooperation and backing for Ukraine's national security efforts.
