European Sleeper to Launch Five-Country Night Train Route This June.
New European Sleeper Night Train Announced
According to Novyny.live: Rail operator European Sleeper has announced a new night train service connecting five European countries, set to begin in June 2023. This expansion reflects a broader revival of overnight rail travel across the continent, offering a sustainable alternative to short-haul flights. The route will link Paris and Berlin, with a key stop in Brussels, effectively increasing the frequency of overnight connections between Brussels and Berlin to six per week.
Currently, European Sleeper operates three weekly services between Brussels and Berlin. The new extended route will traverse the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy, opening up additional travel possibilities across these nations. Tickets for the new service will go on sale in February 2023, with prices starting from 30 euros.
Benefits of the New Route
This move by European Sleeper underscores the growing demand for night train services in Europe and the drive to provide convenient, affordable travel options. The development of overnight rail connections, particularly through new routes like this one, can contribute to reducing carbon emissions compared to air travel, aligning with modern environmental trends. As the number of night trains increases, rail travel is likely to grow in popularity among travelers seeking efficient solutions for long journeys across the continent.
