The Factor of Russia's War Against Ukraine Has Become an Element of Confrontation on the Korean Peninsula — Expert.
Expert Denys Kuzmin from the Center for International Studies at the Odesa National University named after I. Mechnikov believes that North Korea's involvement in the war between Russia and Ukraine is part of the confrontation on the Korean Peninsula.
According to him, South Korea, which is dependent on the USA in terms of security, cannot emotionally perceive the Ukrainian-Russian conflict. Kuzmin also noted that North Korea could not send its servicemen to the Russian army on the Ukrainian front without China's permission.
The expert warns that there is a risk of escalating the conflict in this region due to China's influence through North Korea. Therefore, the Ukrainian conflict acquires even greater international significance, encompassing Southeast Asia and the Korean Peninsula.
Denys Kuzmin also noted that US President Joe Biden's approval of Ukraine's use of long-range missiles against the Russian Federation is a response to Russia's actions regarding North Korea's involvement in the war. His words indicate that this places Ukraine on a global scale and becomes yet another argument for making a decision about the war.
