Fico accused Ukraine of a 'massive cyberattack'.
The National Insurance Company of Slovakia became a victim of a 'massive cyberattack'. The Government of Slovakia believes that Ukraine is behind this. This was reported by Dennik N.
According to Prime Minister Robert Fico, the cyberattack began at noon and aimed to obtain 'confidential information regarding diagnoses'.
If the attack had been successful, it would have threatened the provision of medical assistance in Slovakia. Currently, we are successfully repelling the attack, but we cannot predict what will happen in the near future
Fico calls the cyberattack 'a typical example of how uncooperative governments with different views are taken down' and accuses Ukraine of this.
According to the politician, 'this activity is carried out by opposition leaders, non-governmental organizations, foreign states, foreign instructors, and the media'.
However, Dennik N claims that it is actually not a cyberattack on the National Insurance Company of Slovakia, but a phishing attack.
Earlier, Prime Minister Robert Fico announced the adoption of 'significant precautionary measures' to prevent a possible coup in the country, which, in his words, 'intelligence information clearly indicates'.
Let us remind you that Prime Minister Robert Fico may face an impeachment process. The opposition, consisting of the 'Progressive Slovakia', 'Slovakia Movement', 'Christian Democratic Movement', and 'Freedom and Solidarity' parties, plans to issue him a vote of no confidence.
By the way, Prime Minister Robert Fico criticized the meeting of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with the leader of the Slovak opposition party Michal Simecka in Kyiv, calling it 'a gesture of sycophancy'. Fico stated that Slovak deputies who visited Kyiv on January 17 'kissed Zelensky's ring', promising to support Ukraine's NATO membership if the opposition comes to power.
