Financing the army: Shmyhal spoke about the record budget for 2025.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced plans to allocate a record amount of funds from the state budget in 2025 for the needs of defense and the defense industry. A total of 2.23 trillion hryvnias will be allocated for these purposes. Shmyhal emphasized that every hryvnia paid by taxpayers will be used specifically for this.
More than 739 billion hryvnias will be directed towards the purchase of weapons and military equipment. The development of the defense industry is expected to increase production capacities to 30 billion dollars.
As part of the 'Weapon of Victory' project, long-term contracts will be signed with weapons manufacturers for 3-5 years. The main priority is to produce at least 30,000 long-range drones. It is also planned to create about 3,000 cruise missiles and drone missiles at Ukrainian enterprises.
Ukraine hopes for support from international partners through the development of the 'Danish model'. Under this model, weapons manufactured by Ukrainian defense enterprises are purchased by other countries for the needs of the Ukrainian army. About 1 billion dollars is planned to be attracted in this direction by 2025.
In the field of security, Ukraine plans to strengthen the shelter system according to the 'Finnish model'. This involves creating a wide network of reliable shelters through public-private partnerships.
Earlier, Denys Shmyhal spoke about the state of public accounts.
