Disappearance of Oliver Pugh

According to The Sun: These are the first photographs of the mother of missing British boy Oliver Pugh. Anastasia Chikina, a 32-year-old Russian, is suspected of kidnapping her son and fleeing to her homeland.

Three-year-old Oliver vanished together with his mother at the end of July, just before a court hearing in Marbella that was set to strip Anastasia of custody over the boy.

Reward for Information

Oliver's father, who has not seen his son for over a month, announced a reward of £87,000 (€100,000) for information that helps locate the boy.

Anastasia is Russian, and the Spanish police suspect she may have fled to Russia to avoid losing custody of Oliver, who loves Lego and cars.

The family lived in Marbella, but the parents separated in May 2024 and shared custody of Oliver, living in different homes.

Oliver could be anywhere; we don't know where they are.

The father, a 36-year-old man who wished to remain anonymous, noted: “Anastasia seems to have fled when she realized she would lose custody.”

He claims: “Her plan to stay with the son and use our house in Marbella backfired. Instead of facing this situation, she fled, even taking her sister out of school.”

The Spanish police are actively searching for Anastasia on suspicion of kidnapping and have contacted Interpol to obtain an international arrest warrant.

Missing Person Notice for OliverEnterprise

The father states that after the court hearing in July, Anastasia realized that maintaining custody was in jeopardy. She could have remained with Oliver until a final decision in August, but was forbidden from leaving the country and required to return the boy's passport. However, she claimed she lost it. During this period, she likely kidnapped the boy and fled, violating the court's decision.

Along with Anastasia, her mother, Angela Nikolenko, and her 15-year-old sister also disappeared.

Last seen about July 20, Anastasia and the boy were spotted in their home in Marbella, but since then they have vanished. Phone calls went unanswered, and the house was empty.

After a long period of desperate waiting, the father contacted the police on August 7.

No news regarding Oliver or his mother has emerged so far — the situation is dreadful for his desperate father.

Father's Plea and Investigation

In Spain, a preliminary investigation into the kidnapping has been launched. A representative of the national police stated on Monday: “The investigation is ongoing. There are currently no updates that might interest you.”

At the end of last week, they reported that the mother and son are British, while Anastasia is a Russian residing in Marbella. The case is being treated as parental abduction.

Moscow authorities intervened in the situation last week as rumors circulated that Oliver might be in Russia. One analyst on state television suggested that the child is “Russian” and called for protecting the mother's rights to stay with her child.

“This is not yet a fact, but if it is true, we must do everything possible to protect the mother's right to be with her son,” the analyst noted.

The UK Foreign Office confirmed that it is “getting involved in supporting the family of the British child missing in Spain.”

Oliver is 3 years and 9 months old. He stands 100 cm tall, has light hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information about Oliver is urged to contact the Spanish national police.

The last part of the news emphasizes the seriousness of the situation where the mother and son have disappeared, and the father is trying to find them, hoping for help from law enforcement and the public. The issue of international child abduction remains relevant, and Oliver's case highlights not only a personal tragedy but also the complexity of legal relations between countries.
