Ukraine has improved its air defense system by receiving HAWK missile batteries from Taiwan. This is reported by Forbes, citing comments from former Pentagon official Tony Hsu on the YouTube channel RJ War Room.

The MIM-23 HAWK systems are renowned for their reliability and mobility. They are effective against drones, cruise missiles, and manned aircraft. Additionally, they are compatible with the modern NASAMS system already in use in Ukraine. Information about the deal between Taiwan and Ukraine has been previously confirmed.

Experts estimate that Ukraine may deploy up to 15 HAWK batteries. Each battery includes six launchers with three missiles and corresponding radars. These systems will complement the existing complexes provided by the USA and Spain.

The transfer of HAWK systems is significant for military-technical cooperation between Ukraine and Taiwan. According to ISW, the experience of the Ukrainian Armed Forces may provide important lessons for defending Taiwan against possible aggression from China. It is also worth noting that cooperation between the countries is not limited to the military sphere - Taiwan has also allocated an additional $5 million for Ukraine's reconstruction as part of a joint program with Lithuania.
