The Hague for Putin: Ukrainian ambassador named the most promising format for a special tribunal.
Ukraine and the Council of Europe plan to create a special tribunal based on a bilateral agreement. This was stated by the Ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Anton Korynevych. He stressed that this format is the most promising, and work on the draft constituent documents for the tribunal is ongoing.
In September, a positive meeting of the Core Group took place in Vienna, where issues regarding the creation of a tribunal for the crime of aggression by Russia against Ukraine were discussed. Currently, members of the group are working on the mechanism for selecting judges and forming the judicial corps.
The creation of a tribunal for Putin and his associates has already consumed Time and is at the stage of group proceedings. A draft Statute, which will include important issues, is being considered. The Ukrainian side is actively participating in this process.
The Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Andriy Kostin, also expressed his views on possible compromises with Russia regarding Ukrainian territories.
