Security Guarantees for Ukraine: Why NATO Will Not Replace a Military Alliance.
According to FREEДOM: Ukraine is actively seeking specific security guarantees from its partners. Germany expresses the view that these guarantees should be not only formal but also truly effective. The Executive Director of the Center for Applied Political Research 'Pent' emphasized the importance of supplying weapons, deploying foreign contingents, and other aspects of security for Ukraine.
'Germany is the country that financially invests the most in Europe to help Ukraine. For example, the German company Rheinmetall is already building factories in Ukraine. This is important in terms of developing military cooperation between Ukraine and Germany. Perhaps in the future this will lead to the creation of joint weapon systems, as Germany is currently producing Taurus missiles together with Sweden. It is clear that the development of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is a comprehensive line of security guarantees,' noted Leonov.
The expert also stressed the need to take into account the experiences of Israel and South Korea, which have created powerful military-industrial complexes as a guarantee of their security. The deployment of foreign contingents on the territory of Ukraine is also considered a key aspect of stability and security.
