NATO Secretary General made a loud statement about the future of Ukraine amid the difficult situation.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte rejected claims about Ukraine's defeat in the war and called for strengthening support for the country, despite the difficult situation on the front. He stated this in an interview with the German publication Bild.
According to Rutte, Russian forces are suffering heavy losses in their offensive. 'The front is moving in the wrong direction. But at what cost? The Russians lose from 1000 to 1500 people every day, who are killed or severely injured. But they still do not achieve their goals,' he emphasized.
The NATO Secretary General also emphasized the importance of demonstrating Western strength and warned of possible consequences of showing weakness.
He mentioned the previous aggression of Russia towards Ukraine and urged not to show naivety regarding long-term peace with Putin's regime.
Speaking about a possible peaceful settlement, Rutte emphasized the importance of reliable security guarantees. 'If a peace agreement is reached, we must ensure that it is sustainable. We must guarantee that Russia will never be able to conquer even one square kilometer of Ukraine again,' said the NATO Secretary General.
Earlier, Hürriyet revealed the timeframe for possible peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
