Preparing proposals for changes — Klymenko announced a new meeting.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko is preparing for a meeting with law enforcement officers that will take place next week at the Office of the Prosecutor General. He announced this during a conversation with journalists on Wednesday, July 23.
This meeting will be a continuation of the recent gathering of law enforcement agencies with the President of Ukraine. 'The President wanted to hear from everyone. He gathered us not just for fun — there were many rumors and public accusations, dissatisfaction, misunderstandings. We assessed the situation. The President was trying to understand and, most importantly, unite us,' the minister said.
Klymenko also emphasized that the law enforcement agencies have two weeks to prepare proposals for changes in legislation to increase efficiency. The next meeting will be held in the Office of the Prosecutor General, after which the participants will return to the President with their suggestions.
We are preparing our proposals. Next week we will meet in the same composition already in the Office of the Prosecutor General. And then — again to the President with our developments,' Klymenko summarized.
Thus, the Ukrainian authorities continue active dialogue with law enforcement to coordinate further steps in reforming the law enforcement system and ensuring cooperation between different security agencies.
