The Patrol Police of Odesa Region continues its active fight against the use of 'straight-through mufflers' by drivers, which cause discomfort during air alerts. Only on the weekend, 14 reports of violations were drawn up.
According to police representatives, the use of straight-through mufflers by drivers can damage the vehicle, create excessive noise that annoys residents, especially at night, and threaten road safety.
'Owners of such vehicles are reminded: you can be fined for this. Remember that your comfort should not come at the expense of others' comfort. A car should be not only powerful but also safe and legal,' the message states.
According to the administrative code of Ukraine, for such violations, a fine can be imposed in the amount of 85 to 255 hryvnias. It is also worth noting that there is a draft law in the Verkhovna Rada that provides for a significant increase in the amount of fines for using straight-through mufflers, but it has not been accepted yet.
Recently, we spoke about the traffic jams on the Odesa-Reni highway and the need to have documents when traveling to Romania.
The team of the Patrol Police of Odesa Region continues active actions against drivers who violate the law by using mufflers that cause discomfort to fellow citizens and violate road safety rules. Police remind the importance of adhering to rules and laws in the field of road traffic to ensure comfort and safety for all road users.Read also
