Kharkiv Under Heavy Fire: 54 Attacks in One Week, Rescuers Among the Dead.
Massive Strikes on Kharkiv: The Aftermath of Shelling
According to Novyny.live: Between June 8 and June 14, Kharkiv was hit by 54 shelling incidents, damaging residential buildings, public utilities, and killing emergency workers who were responding to the attacks. During this period, 48 people were wounded, including 5 children. A total of 5 people lost their lives, 4 of whom were rescuers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).
The attacks involved Shahed drones, FPV drones, and jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles. The strikes destroyed or damaged homes, offices, public infrastructure, a dental clinic, a café, a church, and the Kharkiv Art Museum. Shelling was recorded across multiple districts of the city, with no area considered safe. Over the course of the week, air raid sirens sounded 64 times in Kharkiv, underscoring the constant threat faced by the civilian population.
Situation in the Kharkiv Region
Shelling also occurred in the Kharkiv region on June 13 and 14, injuring two more people. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on the situation in the city, emphasizing that a second strike hit a civilian enterprise, causing significant destruction and casualties among rescue workers. These events serve as a stark reminder of the dangers the city continues to face amid the ongoing conflict.
