Kharkiv to create an 'energy island' to avoid dependence on outages.
The Kharkiv authorities are creating an 'energy island'
The Kharkiv authorities plan to distribute the energy supply system for independence from other regions. To this end, an 'energy island' is being created in the city. This was reported by the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, during a telethon on November 24, according to the city council.
According to him, certain equipment has already been installed in the city to decentralize the energy system.
'We are collaborating with international partners, including manufacturers of such equipment, as it is not produced in Ukraine,' Terekhov said, without disclosing details.
This is the first time the mayor of Kharkiv has mentioned the necessity of creating an 'energy island' back in July.
