One of the most severe assaults occurred on June 29, when a Russian guided aerial bomb struck the Kholodnohirskyi district. That single attack killed one person and wounded ten others. Reactions and Aftermath
“Shattered windows, scarred building facades, damaged rooftops, and torn utility wires. Behind every piece of destruction lie people’s homes, jobs, and businesses—enterprises that continue to pay taxes, issue salaries, and keep the country’s economy alive under extremely difficult conditions.” — Ihor Terekhov, Mayor of Kharkiv
According to Terekhov, municipal services are working tirelessly on recovery.
“As always, utility workers are helping victims rebuild, documenting damage, sealing building envelopes, repairing infrastructure, and cleaning up after the shelling. District administrations, municipal companies, rescue teams, medical staff, and law enforcement are also operating in a constant response mode. I thank all services for their efforts!”
In addition, the following Kharkiv districts have been affected:
- Shevchenkivskyi
- Kyivskyi
- Saltivskyi
- Nemyshlianskyi
- Kholodnohirskyi
- Osnovianskyi
- Industrialnyi
The alarming situation in the city and region demands constant vigilance and coordinated action from all agencies responsible for public safety and infrastructure restoration.
Life in Kharkiv remains tense due to relentless shelling that disrupts daily routines and damages critical infrastructure. The frequency of air raid alerts and the sheer number of strikes highlight the urgent need for stronger security measures and rapid response from emergency services. Restoring damaged facilities is essential to sustaining the region’s economy and ensuring livable conditions for residents. Moving forward, the actions of local authorities and utility crews will be decisive in stabilizing the situation in Kharkiv.
