According to The Sun: A 57-year-old man died in an accident at the popular Toro del Gayumbo festival, which took place on Sunday. He fell victim to a bull that suddenly charged at him amidst the crowd.
SolarpixIn the video that surfaced online, the man is seen trying to escape by climbing onto metal railings nearby. He was wearing a t-shirt and shorts but lost his balance when the bull knocked off his shoes. The animal gored him several times.
The injured man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but his death was confirmed at 8 PM. His identity has not yet been established.
Celebration and day of mourning
The festival took place in picturesque Ubrique, in the southwestern part of Spain, celebrating the tenth anniversary of Toro del Gayumbo. As part of the festivities, two bulls were released into the streets: the first at 12:30 PM, and the second, named Musquetero, attacked the victim at 6:30 PM.

“We want to express our sincere condolences and solidarity with the family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased,”- the statement said.
“We also announce that out of respect, today’s celebratory fireworks will be canceled.”

The incident caused outrage among local residents.
“This death could have been prevented if our council hadn’t supported such outdated events under the guise of tradition,”- said Isabel Carrasco Romero.
“I want to express my deepest condolences to the family of our late neighbor,”- she added, emphasizing the change in societal views.
