Ukrainian military destroyed Russian reconnaissance ship worth £45 million.
Destruction of the Russian Spy Ship
According to The Sun: A remarkable event took place in Ukraine – a Russian spy ship worth £45 million was destroyed just hours after drone attacks initiated by Vladimir Putin on Poland.
A gripping video shows the 240-foot vessel being shattered after being detected and hit near Novorossiysk in the Black Sea, amid fears of a possible third world war.

The MPSV07 ship, as it turns out, was conducting electronic reconnaissance when its equipment was struck by a Ukrainian drone. Russia has four such vessels that are used to gather information about Ukraine.
“The MPSV07 project vessel is equipped with diving systems, remotely operated devices, side-scan sonar systems, and electronic warfare capabilities,”– reported the military intelligence of Ukraine.
A stunning video showcases the moment the Ukrainian drone destroyed the Vlad, smashing its military equipment in a humiliating blow to the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
According to information, the ship is “out of commission for expensive repairs.” This is yet another loss for Vlad, as Ukraine turns the Black Sea into a graveyard for the Russian fleet, using drones, missiles, and special units instead of traditional military vessels.
Former intelligence officer Philip Ingram noted that “Russia’s naval superiority is facing unprecedented challenges,” as yesterday's released video showed Ukrainian drone operators and special forces attacking occupied Crimea.
Ingram explained that Ukraine's attacks have severely distorted Russia's radar systems, command posts, and even its GLONASS satellite network. These systems “are difficult to repair,” and their condition has a significant impact on Russia's ability to coordinate its actions.
Escalation of the Conflict
The situation is so tense that Sevastopol, once the pride of the Russian fleet, is no longer a safe place.
“A series of audacious Ukrainian attacks has made it a very dangerous place for the Russian fleet,”– noted Ingram, pointing out that Russian ships have been stationed in Novorossiysk and even at a temporary base in the separatist region of Abkhazia in Georgia.
This occurs against the backdrop of the UN Security Council calling for an emergency meeting to discuss the violation of Poland's airspace after 19 Russian drones crossed the country's border. Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported that four of them were shot down by NATO fighters – bringing Poland 'close to a conflict since World War II.'
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radoslaw Sikorski, addressed local radio:
“(We) draw the world's attention to this unprecedented Russian drone attack on a member of the UN, EU, and NATO.”
Tusk also promised to modernize the country’s army during his address to Polish troops at the base in the central city of Łódź, highlighting their swift and coordinated actions in response to the invasion.
Poland plans to receive its first F-35 fighters from the USA next year, which will be the first batch of 32 aircraft expected by 2030.
“We will do everything possible to ensure that our allied commitments, which are so important to us today, are fulfilled by our allies.”
Against this backdrop, the UK government also reported that more British troops may be sent to Poland to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank in response to the increasing threat from Russia.
NATO, in turn, assured that it will defend “every inch” of allied territory, while the UK confirmed readiness for the challenges posed by Putin.
Defense Minister John Healey condemned the “reckless, dangerous, and unprecedented” escalation from Russia after a meeting with E5 servicemen from Germany, France, and Italy, which also included the Polish defense minister.

The situation surrounding the conflict in Ukraine remains critical, with fresh strikes on military facilities in the Black Sea and escalating tensions with neighboring states. Meanwhile, the international community is closely monitoring the situation, especially in light of the threat posed by military drones and modern technologies in warfare. Ukrainian actions demonstrate changes in combat strategies, focusing on drones and new methods of reconnaissance and attack. Read also
