India is increasingly aligning with Russia and China, highlighting the weakening of its relations with the United States. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing FREEДОМ.
It is noted that Modi and Putin held a phone call after the summit in Alaska. The Indian Prime Minister referred to the Russian leader as 'a friend'. The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and agreed to remain in 'close contact'.
“India consistently calls for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and supports all efforts in this direction. I look forward to continuing our exchanges in the coming days,” Modi wrote on the social network X.
At the same time, the Indian government seeks to strengthen relations with China, indicating that the South Asian country is distancing itself from America following the tariff threats from U.S. President Donald Trump.
Recall that on August 11, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They agreed to plan a personal meeting in September at the UN General Assembly and work on the exchange of visits.
