Irpin and Hostomel will remain without electricity until Thursday
According to TSN.ua: Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolysnyk commented on the electricity supply situation in Irpin and Hostomel, noting that there are no official forecasts for the restoration of electricity supply. The Irpin community has been completely without power since 01:30 on January 12. This outage occurred as a result of a massive missile-drone attack by the Russian Federation.
Impact of the attacks on energy infrastructure
As part of this attack, strikes were also inflicted on energy facilities in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia. According to preliminary data, electricity may not return to the cities until 02:25 on Thursday, January 15.
Mykola Kolysnyk urged citizens to rely solely on information from operators of transmission system operators, Ukrenergo, and local energy suppliers, emphasizing the importance of reliable sources during this difficult period.
The electricity supply situation in Irpin and Hostomel highlights the consequences of military actions ongoing in Ukraine and their impact on civilian infrastructure. The lack of electricity in these cities complicates the lives of residents who have already faced difficulties due to the war. The electricity supply situation is relevant not only for these regions but for the entire country, as energy facilities continue to be targeted amid ongoing conflicts.
The importance of information from official sources becomes critical for the population that requires reliable data during periods of instability.
