Italy has allocated the first tranche for the restoration of Ukraine's energy networks.

The Italian government has transferred the first tranche of 25 million euros for the restoration of Ukraine's energy system as part of a joint initiative with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, with a total cost of 200 million euros.

The Italian embassy in Ukraine reported that these funds are intended for the state company 'Ukrhydroenergo' to carry out urgent work to restore access to energy supply, strengthen power grids, and ensure essential services in the most affected regions.

'This first financing is a concrete signal of strong support from Italy for Ukraine's energy sector, which has faced serious challenges due to the war. The recovery of the country begins with light, heat, and basic services that unite communities and make them resilient,' said the Italian ambassador to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa.

These funds are part of a total aid package from Italy amounting to 125 million euros, aimed at ensuring energy security and rebuilding Ukraine in cooperation with Ukrainian institutions and international partners, the embassy reported.
