Italy proposed an Olympic truce to the UN for all wars: details of the initiative.
According to inkorr.com: Italy has approached the UN with an initiative to establish an Olympic truce during the 2026 Winter Olympics. The aim of this proposal is to promote global peace in all conflicts, including in Ukraine and the Middle East. This was announced during a conference in Rome by Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani.
“We must be champions of peace. In light of the Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina, we represent a proposal for an Olympic truce to the UN for all wars, including Ukraine and the Middle East,” Tajani emphasized.
He also noted that Italy aims to become a 'crossroads of peace, development, and growth' and expressed hope for the establishment of general peace. Additionally, the White House plan to resolve the conflict in Gaza has already received support from France, Israel, and Italy.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni supported efforts to end the conflict in Gaza and free hostages, emphasizing that the Italian government is actively engaged in this issue.
Italy's initiative for an 'Olympic truce' during the 2026 Olympics aims to enhance global cooperation and promote peace worldwide, particularly in the most painful conflicts, such as in Ukraine and the Middle East. Other countries have also expressed their support for this initiative, indicating the cohesion of the international community in the pursuit of peace.
