Drove with Weapons and Psychotropic Substances - A Soldier Was Tried in Odesa Region.
The soldier transported cannabis and firearms along the roads of Odesa region. However, he was detained at one of the checkpoints and a case was opened, which was considered in the Velykomykhailivskyi District Court.
According to information from the Unified Register of Court Decisions, a soldier from the village of Voroshilovgrad was caught at a checkpoint in the village of Novopetryivka. Police found a starting pistol 'RETAY' model G17 caliber 9 mm, converted to combat, as well as more than 20 grams of cannabis and a smoking pipe in his car. The serviceman explained that he found the weapon near a pond in a ditch and picked it up, while the cannabis was discovered near the highway close to Podilsk and he kept it in a first aid kit.
Details of the Case
The soldier was found guilty of illegal handling of weapons and possession of psychotropic substances under Part 1 of Article 309 and Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The serviceman was released from 3 years of imprisonment with a probation period of 1 year.
