Israel’s Military Action Against Iran Is Purely Defensive, Not Aimed at Regime Change.
Israel’s Military Operation Targets Iranian Threats, Not the Regime
According to UATV: Israel’s ongoing military operation against Iran is designed solely to protect its own security, with no intention of toppling the Iranian government. This was confirmed by Rostyslav Holtsman, head of the International Relations Commission at the Union of Journalists of Israel. He stressed that Israel’s only goal is to defend its regional interests.
In a March 19, 2023 interview with the FREEДOM TV channel, Holtsman pointed out that Iran had passed a law mandating the destruction of the State of Israel, creating a serious threat to Israeli security. In response, Israel launched a significant strike on Iran’s missile and nuclear weapons infrastructure. The conflict lasted 12 days—shorter than originally anticipated—highlighting the unpredictable nature of developments in the region.
“Israel’s sole objective is its own security.”
Rostyslav Holtsman
Holtsman also noted that “no one ever claimed that Israel’s goal is to change the regime in Iran.” Israeli society is fully aware of the threat, as reflected in its readiness to respond to Iranian aggression. “In Israel, this is our war; the public understands the danger,” Holtsman said.
Potential Fallout from the Conflict
It is also worth noting that the United States is considering deploying thousands of troops for ground operations in Iran. This signals a worsening situation in the region and the potential for further escalation, which could shape the course of events going forward.
Tensions between Iran and Israel remain high, with both sides intensifying military actions and rhetoric. Israel’s operations underscore the critical importance of national security amid threats posed by Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Future moves by the United States could significantly alter the conflict’s dynamics and overall regional stability.
