Strategic Bomber Tu-95 Destroyed in Precision Strike

According to UATV: Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has eliminated a strategic Tu-95 bomber at the 'Engels' military airfield in Russia’s Saratov region. This loss deals a severe blow to Russia’s military capabilities, as the aircraft was actively used to launch strikes against Ukraine.

The destroyed Tu-95 bomber is beyond repair. No new Tu-95MS3 models are being manufactured in Russia, making this incident especially critical for the country’s military strength. On July 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the destruction of the Tu-95, providing official validation of the operation’s success.

Broader Impact on Russia’s Military Power

Serhiy Bratchuk, a representative of Ukraine’s Security Service, stated: 'This is the destruction of airfield infrastructure without which these aircraft cannot operate.'

According to him, 'this bomber is a serious machine. One of them will never take off again.' Bratchuk emphasized that such strikes 'directly affect the ability of the Russian Federation to carry out attacks on our regions.'

This event underscores Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to counter Russian aggression and could significantly reshape the regional military balance. The elimination of the strategic Tu-95 not only reduces Russia’s capacity to strike Ukraine but also demonstrates the ability of Ukrainian forces to conduct successful operations on enemy territory, potentially impacting morale among military personnel and civilians in both nations.
