Likely Massive Attack by the Russian Federation: Lithuanian Embassy Cancels Event.
The Lithuanian Embassy in Ukraine canceled a public event without reason based on substantiated data regarding the threat of Russian shelling. This was reported by the Lithuanian ambassador in a comment to LRT.
The ambassador noted that this decision was made considering the embassy's external obligations, but there were no specific threats. After a detailed review of the information, the embassy decided to maintain its openness.
She also emphasized that currently, there is no specific substantiated data regarding the threat. The ambassador highlighted close cooperation with Western allies and Ukrainian institutions. If the situation suddenly changes, the ambassador is ready to adjust her decisions accordingly.
The ambassador reported that any of the embassies that announced their closures continue their work but do not accept visitors. She noted that the embassy staff continues to operate normally.
Earlier, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine warned of a possible mass aerial attack and decided to close its doors. Italy, Spain, and Greece also reported closing their embassies. The Embassy of Kazakhstan urged its citizens to leave Ukraine or the conflict zones.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported that it is in constant contact with partners regarding potential security threats. It also emphasized that threats to Ukrainians are a daily reality over numerous days.
The Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council stated that the Russians are trying to create panic after several embassies in Kyiv announced closures to visitors.
