Zelensky Initiated Calendar Reform: What Holidays Will Be Reviewed in Ukraine.

According to ТСН: Work is underway in Ukraine to define holiday and special days in the calendar. This process requires systematization.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky shared information about his conversation with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk.

“Among other things, I asked Ruslan, together with the parliamentary body, as well as with government officials and representatives of civil society, to prepare proposals on defining new and logical approaches to the holiday and special days of our calendar,” says Zelensky.

According to the president, it is important to bring order to this issue.

“There are bad calendar coincidences — and the war has brought many such changes. When days of tragedy fall on days of professional holidays. Or when several completely different professional days coincide on the same day from Soviet times and the early years of independence. All this should be organized,” he notes.

Zelensky also expressed gratitude to everyone involved in this process.

“As the real Christmas was perceived easily — on December 25 — so other dates must be fair and correct,” Zelensky concluded.

Additionally, the president mentioned that the Ukrainian delegation is returning from the USA and will report on the progress of negotiations in Florida. The basic block of all documents is already ready.

“Basic. There are some things we are probably not ready for. There are things, I am sure, that the Russians are not ready for,” Zelensky noted.

The president emphasized that the American side will continue cooperation with Russia.

The systematization of holiday days in Ukraine is of great importance for the identity and cultural life of the country. This will allow the creation of a calendar that better reflects modern realities, taking into account the difficult times we live in. Thus, new proposals can become an important step towards harmonizing social life in Ukrainian society.
