Kallas announced a large-scale training of Ukrainian troops.
The European Union plans to train 75,000 Ukrainian servicemen
According to the statement by High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, the EU plans to prepare 75,000 Ukrainian servicemen by the end of February 2025 as part of the EUMAM training mission. She also noted the importance of supporting Ukraine in the military sector. Kallas reported that the European Union has provided Ukraine with financial aid amounting to 4.2 billion euros and will continue to allocate 1.5 billion euros monthly starting in January.
Request for additional support for Ukraine
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiga at the meeting of EU foreign ministers expressed the need to increase ammunition stocks, strengthen air defense, and support the defense industry. He emphasized the necessity of additional assistance for Ukraine.
EUMAM Ukraine mission and training of Ukrainian soldiers
The EUMAM Ukraine mission was established in October 2022 for two years. During this mission, about 63,000 Ukrainian military personnel have already undergone training, corresponding to ten brigades. Continuing the training of Ukrainian servicemen is part of the security agreement concluded between Ukraine and the EU. Kallas emphasized that the European Union will continue to provide necessary support for Ukraine's victory in the war.
