Luke Bradburn, an experienced traveler, discovered the forgotten resort town of Kinugawa Onsen, located near the exclusion zone that arose due to the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident. This town was once known for its hot springs and was a popular resort. However, after the tragedy at Fukushima, it turned into an abandoned city with crumbling hotels. The traveler had the opportunity to 'glimpse into the past' by literally walking through the streets of abandoned hotels where slot machines, bottles of drinks, and even stuffed animals remained. The preservation of these buildings is due not only to the technological disaster but also to Japan's strict property laws, which prevent some heirs from doing anything with the property, and the last theoretical owner may simply disappear or die without transferring ownership rights. The tragedy at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, which occurred as a result of the earthquake and tsunami in 2011, led to the evacuation of over 150,000 people and left far-reaching consequences that continue to affect the environment.
