Kyiv residents revealed the scenario of the capital's life in case of a blackout.
Kyiv is preparing for the winter period, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the city's critical infrastructure. Special attention is paid to ensuring the autonomy of main boiler houses and water supply units. The city also plans to install generators and mobile mini-boiler houses at important social facilities.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the city's active preparation for the heating season. He emphasized that all boiler houses have generators for uninterrupted operation. Klitschko also reported on the repair of heat sources, boilers, and the renewal of pumping equipment.
The city authorities will compensate for the cost of alternative power sources and energy-efficient equipment to encourage residents of apartment buildings to increase the energy independence of their homes.
But experts warn of possible risks. Solar panels on high-rise buildings may lead to danger, notes expert Oleh Popenko.
